We wanted to form a platform people to find, start, and get support for projects that help local and global communities. Unlike Kickstarter, which supports creative projects, or GoFundMe which often focuses on personal problems, Projects for Good is a site for people who want to help the greater good. For those who need fundraising AND community support.
We have chosen to build a site that only focuses on projects that help the greater good. There are other fundraising sites out there, and they’re made for product launches, creative projects, or an immediate personal crisis. Our commitment to projects that help others ensures that we are building a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about change in the world, not someone who is trying to build a robot that makes you coffee and smoothies. While we wholeheartedly support coffee and robots, our focus is the greater good of the community and beyond.
